Magical Vidding Tournament
A great place to test your editing abilities.
How We Judge
We have a simple Rubric that consists of 100 points! Each judge uses the outline below to give each contestant a score, then one of us adds all the scores (for that one person) and averages it out. Most editors get in the 80's. :) Remember, just because the rubric below is based on five's, we will still use numbers in between.

Turning Entry In On Time: 5
• 5 - The editor was able to turn it in before the original deadline.
• 4 - The editor either had to ask for a deadline or turned it in within the new deadline.
• 3 - The entry was turned in outside of any deadline.
• 2 - The editor asked for a deadline and did not make it.
• 1 - Any other circumstance worse than the four above.
Followed The Challenge: 25
• 25 - The editor did exactly what we were looking for.
• 20 - The editor misunderstood the challenge, but it was still somewhat close.
• 15 - The editor obviously tried, but the entry was not what we were looking for.
• 10 - The editor used the challenge as an outline, but otherwise went in a completely different direction.
• 5 - The editor seemed to not even try to make it close to what we were asking for.
Song Choice: 20
• 20 - The song was relevant to the challenge, the clips matched with the lyrics, and it wasn't too overused.
• 15 - One of the above things was not a strength in the video.
• 10 - Two of the above things were not a strength in the video.
• 5 - It was a randomly chose song and the editor barely followed it.
Editing: 25
• 25 - Everything was perfect; the coloring, overlays, flow, effects, voiceovers, and the match-up to the song.
• 20 - The editing was great, but it seemed to be missing something.
• 15 - We felt that the editor could've done better.
• 10 - The editing was bland and seemed to have been done in a matter of minutes.
• 5 - The editing was just outright horrible!
Miscellaneous: 25
• A free 25 points if we felt that the video was a good length, the editor tried, if the clips were good quality, etc. and if the editor themself is a nice person with some great sportsmanship! :)
